New Cancer House of Hope Coming to Springfield

Springfield MA has seen many improvements over the past few years. The addition of the D’Amour Center for Cancer Care, the first truly integrated cancer care center in the Northeast, will soon be supported by a Cancer House of Hope. Conklin Office Furniture was responsible for assisting with the space planning that took place for the D’Amour Center as well as coordinating the move into the new facility. Conklin is also playing a role in the home makeover at 946 Plumtree Road in Springfield where the Cancer House of Hope will be located.

The Cancer House of Hope Inc. is teaming with the Junior League of Greater Springfield and local designers and businesses to outfit a house in Springfield. This place will “enhance the lives of people with cancer, and those who care about them, by providing programs and services that address the spectrum of needs throughout the cancer experience.” Conklin Office Furniture, a leader in the used office furniture industry, is taking this opportunity to give back to the Springfield community, their home for 24 years. Conklin is donating all the furniture for the entrance hall and a book-filled library providing free information for patients’ families and friends. The home will be a comfortable, relaxing setting for people to speak with professionals or to just “hang out”, gaining support from others dealing with similar situations.

With the anticipated rise of patients traveling to Springfield for treatment at the D’Amour Center, The Cancer House of Hope Inc. will have an important impact in the area. Conklin Office Furniture is playing a key role in making this house become a reality. Planning is already underway, and on Saturday, April 9, volunteers, along with the designers, will come together, for a complete house make-over. Conklin Office Furniture is proud to be lending a hand to this remarkable community project.
