Conference Room Design Tips

The size and layout of your room will determine which table shape will best meet your needs.  It is also important to consider if you need data ports and storage incorporated into your conference area.  Many of the new and used/refurbished conference tables sold by Conklin Office Furniture come with areas to store electronics as well as wire management components.  These features will be important if you plan to use your conference room for phone and video conferencing.

Seating Capacity

To determine the maximum number of people that can work comfortably within your conference room please review the following space guidelines that we like to maintain when creating your floor plan.  Although these 5 requirements are not "paved in stone" they will create a space that is much more user-friendly.

Allow at least 48" (4 feet) between your conference table and the walls of the room.  By increasing this measurement to 56" the space will be much more comfortable for employees, clients and guests in your conference room.
Allow 16" to walk sideways between the wall of the room and your office chair or 24" to walk straight ahead.
Allow 30" side to side for each conference chair.
Allow 32" to 34" between table and chair to rise from your seat.  You may want to increase this measurement if person will be confined by other sitters.
Allow 56" between table and presentation board.
