After two years of tireless efforts from our team, Conklin is officially a HUBZone Certified business!

What is it?

The Historically Underutilized Business Zones program is designed to promote job growth, capital investment, and economic development in historically underutilized business zones, referred to as HUBZones. The program helps small businesses in urban and rural communities gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities.

What are the benefits?

The program’s benefits for HUBZone-certified companies include competitive and sole source contracting, a 10% price evaluation preference in full and open contract competitions, as well as subcontracting opportunities. The Federal government has a goal of awarding 3% of all dollars for Federal prime contracts to HUBZone-certified concerns.

We've has been through many transformations since we opened our doors in 1981. In 2019, we found our home at 75 Appleton St in Holyoke, MA, housing all of our operations under one roof. Conklin is powered by nearly 900KWh clean electricity each year, thanks to the 2,600 solar panels housed on top of our 300k square foot facility. Our neighborhood has undergone major regrowth as a creative district and manufacturing hub. As one of the city's largest employers, we're proud to be part of Holyoke's economic revitalization.
